X2N7 vs. D sonic

I am debating between these two pickups for my H-207. Some one set me straight. I am looking for a really bright, focused tone. Kind of Meshuggah-ish with a hint of Fear Factory. what do you guys think?

I wouldn't really get either of those for the sound you're looking for. If I had to choose, I'd definitely go with the DS7...that part is easy. I think in basswood though, the Evolution 7 would be more to your liking. Or the D-Activator.

The X2N has more top-end EQ than the drop-sonic does.

Yeah but the DS7 is definitely more 'bright and focused' in the context hes looking for IMO.

The DS7 is definatly bright focused and clean, however, it's also a bit noisy. I don't recommend it if you're recording (great live though, I have one in my carvin).

Either way though, sounds like you want emgs but you want tone too.

Well I had no problems recording with it, the Boss NS-2 got rid of all the unpleasantries - but yes it is a bit noisy. Once again I think the Evolution is the way to go. That thing is brutal sounding in basswood and its very tight and clear.
