A couple Hardware questions...

Ok, well I'm about to buy the Sperzel 3+3 Trim-Lok tuners but one of the reviews says that the largest string size that can fit through the holes is .48 which is a problem because I use 12's so I need a .56. So I figured that the only way to solve this was to unwind the end of the string a little bit so it fits, but I have no idea how to do this so can someone explain to me how to unwind the end of a string? Also because I use a 60 guage for the Low B on my Carvin which has Sperzels so now I have to do it for that one too.
And finally, can someone recommend me a good Wrap Around Tailpiece for my mini Epiphone(Dont ask, long story )? I'm definately getting the TonePro's locking studs but I want a tailpiece with adjustable saddles. And its gotta be gold. Thanks, Marc

I use a .068, and have no problems with Spertzels. I think they have opened up the shaft size since their last website update (about 8579 years ago).

If not, they are easy to widen yourself. Just unscrew the thumb screw until it comes off, and drop the locking post out of the back of the tuner. Now you can widen the post hole with a drill, without damaging the locking mechanism.
