Gents,
I have a Schecter Damien 7 guitar and I want some new pickups in it. The stock pickups are EMG Hz and I'm not realy satisfied with it.. I'm planning new pickups, may be active, but I think passive at the moment. When the EMG's are going to be replaced by the passive pickups, a gap is left and I don't like this of course.. This problem can be solved by using pick up covers over the passive pickup. Has this an inlfuence on the behaviour of the pickup. I'm planning to use plastic covers.. Bdroker |

Pickups are magnets.
Magnets are not affected by plastic. Science is a beautiful thing. If you're going to 'like' my posts, give me some rep instead. ![]() "i just laughed at my own reflection, not sure if ugly or drunk" -Murmel |

Not a whole lot of change, but some (on some measurable level), yes. Science is a beautiful thing. |

Just gonna say here if you are at all interested in covered lundgrens, your hight adjustment will be limited lsightly on how close you can get to the strings due to a couple mm of plastic(as opposed to their uncovered versions). Something to think about. Although, being passives, they will probably not sound much better so close to the strings anyways. The covered M8's I have sound very very good btw.

Yeah, apparently those should have less highs but neither can I hear a recognizable difference, at least based on some low quality YouTube clips.
