Pickup wire?
What kind of wire do you need for pickups? I have plenty of wire coming off the pups, I just need it to connect the jack and pots to the switch. And can you just get it at somewhere like Radio Shack? Also I can't really tell on the diagram I have, but on an EMG 81/60 set is the middle wire from the jack connected to the third spot on the pots or is it just grounded to it?

Any stranded, 22 to 26 AWG, insulated, copper wire will work.

None go to ground. The ring goes to the battery[s] and the tip and sleeve connect to the leads coming off the tone pot.

Do you have a picture of the wiring diagram you're trying to use?

Solder the lug to the pot housing, and the wires to that.

Sorry for sounding like an idiot, but, do you mean I bend the thing back and solder that to the pot and then solder the wires to the pot? or solder them to the thing and then solder it to the pot?

I have used wire from Radio Shack before. However I think there are better options. The RS wire worked fine though.
My last wiring job, I just reused wire from the old electronics in my guitar. I think I have a better signal with the proper wire. |
