Wiring Help

So, I've been searching for some time now and I haven't found anything that helped.

What I'm trying to do is add a push/pull for coil tapping. I understand the schematic. Here's my problem, which I've conveniently highlighted for you in the picture: How the frak do I connect the red wire to the blue one?
I honestly have no clue... and it seems like such a simple thing to do
Help a brotha out.

Solder them to the same lug on the pot.

You see that little black dot on the pot which the blue wire is connected to? Connect the red wire to that same point.

Well, I mean where do I get the blue wire. That's what I don't get.

You don't have the wire? Then you have to find one or buy one.

Well, what about this?
50-Ft. 24-Gauge Clear 2-Conductor Speaker Wire : Speaker Wires | RadioShack.com

If that's usable, it'll be cheaper for me to go that route. Shipping is ....ing expensive.

You could use that but the insulation on speaker cable is usually very thick compared to regular hookup wire. You will also have to split the cable since it has two conductors. It's just not very practical for guitar use. 75-Ft. UL-Recognized Hookup Wire (22AWG) : Hookup Wiring | RadioShack.com This is a much better choice.

You don't have to have a blue wire specifically to be able to do this wiring... Any wire that's the same or similar to what's in the cavity already will work as long as it's long enough.

And yes, solder the red wire to the same spot as the blue one on the push/pull pot.

You could always solder it to the 5-way. Sometimes the lugs on the push/pull are tiny & it's a pain to get two wires soldered to it (at least cleanly).

Not if he strips the ends on both wires, and twists them together really well, then tins the wires (puts a little bit of solder on them prior to actual soldering to the pin on the push/pull pot...). And 90% of all push/pull pots have the same normal sized pins as a normal pot anyway, so he should be fine there. If he were going to a mini toggle switch, that'd be where he'd have to try and get them onto a really small pin.
