My guitar repsraying progress (pics)

Hey guys (especially to those that have been helping me with all the info on this) heres some pics...i ain't been able to work on it lately as i've been a busy bee. But i sanded and smoothed off the bits where the primer had came off. As you recommended metalfiend so i can just reapply the primer over the bits that came off so i don't have to redo it all. I sorta ended up taking a bit more off than i wanted in the hand sanding part to get it all nice n smooth lol. But yes, it ain't the best job but this is my first guitar project sorta thing so yeh have a look n tell me if anythings "not right" and if its all right to primer up the bits where its naked wood. It mostly still primed up, that clear coating shit, but the "white-ish" looking bits are just the actual wood itself. So any advice and what i should do know would be great. (ps i heat gunned off the paint first)

Well, you have the hardest part out of the way..

Since youre not doing a trans (seethru) finish, all you really have to do now is sand that down with a 200 then a 400 by hand. You want to get it VERY VERY smooth. It doesnt matter if it looks spotted like it is now.
Every little part has to be ultra smooth though. Next, if you've picked your final final color, you'll most likely want to get a colored primer thats close to that color. You said something about a silver blue thing, so youll want a grey primer. If youre priming it yourself, then youll want to tape off your PU cavities and trem cavity (see my old thread fro reference). Make sure you tape it evely, cause the lines of the paint will depend on it.
Then you spray the primer on, a thin coat at a time. Follow the directions ;D
Before you paint it, checked the dried primed guitar to see it there's any rough spots that you need to sand back over with that 400 paper. Sand as necessary and re prime. Then youre good to get it painted by your painter guy. Chances are, he'll prime it for ya with just a little cost more.

im just wondering...whats so bad about painting the pickup and trem cavities

You've got your head down
You've got your eyes closed
You look so pitiful now

Your body encrusted with ash
Breath heavy with toxins
Hair singed and matted
Clothes frayed and burnt

You are left with nothing

I guess just for knowing where the holes and stuff are. Actually having them painted looks better, especially when the trem route isn't deep and you've got direct mounted pickups because you can see inside the routes.

In the PU cavities there's a layer of electrical insulation paint (that flat black paint) thats best, i hear, not to be painted over; as some paints contain conductable materials. Some guitars have that same paint in the trem cavity also; for the bridge grounding.

hey thanks for all the replies. I been sanding all the original primer off! its pretty much all off now woooo. So i am just getting it down to the wood and so far its all pretty damn smooth. So i am near ready for priming! Shit thing is the guy i had painting it for can't do it till next year...i can't wait this long without a 7 string! ahhh. I refuse to play a 6 string...well i have been! but i shouldn't lol. So i may end up spraying it myself! I'll throw up some pics within the next 24 hours to show how it looks now. All the primer will be off and i'll make it look sexy for priming!

i been sanding for 2 hours straight, its pretty much all done woo. Got 2 little bits that i want a bit smoother! then its primer time! i'm gonna take it into work tomorrow and see if the panel beater that does our cars can spray it for meh and prime it.
