Currently Im running my Laney 100 watt head into my 120 watt marshall shit cab at 8 Ohms, now am I supposed to be running it at at 4 Ohms? Am I causing damage by running it at 8? I know that 16 Ohms is reserved for 2 cabs, but Im a bit confused at the difference between 4 and 8 Ohms
Any help would be greatly aprecciated.

It all depends on what the ohm rating of the cab is. If the cab's rated at 8 ohms, use your 8 ohm output. If you can't match the cab, a lower rating on the amp inot a higher rating on the cab (4 ohms out into an 8 ohm cab, for example) is generally considered a "safe" mismatch.

Thanks , it really had me worried for a while, last thing I want is a 24 year old tube head to be damaged. Im at school ATM so Ill check the ratings on the cab when I get home.
