  | Need Soldering Advice! Ok, so I just got in some EMGs and I'm trying to hook it all up. I'm having a hell of a time wiring the braided part of the wire to the volume pot. The pot just doesn't want to take the friggin solder. Any advice?? I am the mask you wear. |

| when i run into this problem (usually with new pots) i lightly sand the area i'm trying to solder on the back. it's almost like theres a coating. i also pre solder the braid as well. what i mean is put solder on the braid and let it soak into the braid. not too much though. and drop some solder on the sanded area as well. kind of like the crazy glue principle.lol |

| Thanks...I finally went out and bought a new soldering iron....got it on the first try. Guess my old one was going bad. |

| If the solder wasn't taking it means the pot wasn't hot enough...so yeah that explains why a new iron worked. Jetzt liegst du hier, ganz regungslos, in meiner hand und meinem schoß, du bist so kalt... |
