I know these threads are getting redundant and this has probably been discussed (even by me) before, but I'm just making sure I get this right

So, I'm trying to steal ( ) Michael Romeo's sound without actually installing EMGs on a 7621.

it says he recently started using X2N on bridge and ToneZone on neck.

Now, I heard that ToneZone7 is pretty terrible, so I'd rather avoid that even if it won't be 100% MJR style anymore.

I figured out that for a pretty good range of sounds and even crunchy sound when I need it, I could go for:

neck: DiMarzio Air Norton 7
bridge: DiMarzio X2N7

Considering that most of you say that Air Norton 7 is overall a pretty damn good pup, and X2N7 is a pretty mean sounding one for bridge position, that setup sounds promising, but I still wanted to hear your opinion.

I *think* the evo will nail the emg sound iirc..Why don't you wanna install emg's? cause of the routing?
