So about two months ago I ordered some new pickups to replace the EMG's in my LTD. I don't know what else to say here so I'll just post some pictures.
007.JPG 005.JPG 009.JPG BK Holydiver neck and Aftermath bridge. The Aftermath sounds absolutely insane and blows the EMG 81 away in all aspects; it's clearer, has a lot more punch and seems to have a tad more bass, this could just be the mahogany doing something for once though. It also seems louder which I wasn't expecting, maybe it's just my brain playing tricks on me. I'm still trying to work out the right height for it but it really does sound good no matter where I have it. The Holydiver is great for warm leads and works well with the Aftermath in terms of output. A billion times clearer than the EMG 60; in fact this is the first neck pickup I've played that hasn't been muddy. I was beginning to think that none existed. I can't really say much about the cleans because my amp (6505+) doesn't really do much for them. But they still sound pretty good. I know basically everyone who buys bare knuckles says all of this, but yeah, SO good. |

Goddammit I miss my EC1000. That guy looks beastly!

Both pickups looks awesome, but not together. You should have went with both in either tiger or battleworn black. Mixing them IMO doesn't look right. I'm sure it sounds great, though.

Yeah I agree, when I saw it I was like 'ahhhh damn I shouldn't have mixed them'. I think a black battleworn pair would've looked the best. Or burnt chrome.
