Noodles, I need to try one of those. I absolutely LOVE the '59 neck in my Blackjack, it's just incredibly responsive and organic. If a Jazz is somehow even better, well, I'll be a very happy person.

+1 on the Air Norton talk, though - if you don't like that pickup, there's something wrong with you. The AN is about as high-output as you want for a neck pickup, and if you're running that 2-3mm from the strings and you STILL don't feel like you have enough output, then you're probably better off looking into more gain from your amp.

A touch more treble and bass gives it a slightly scooped sound. It's a little hotter, too. This pickup responds amazingly well to lots of gain, and never gets muddy. It just warm, round, and perfectly balanced. It excels at blending with other pickups, and middle position between it and a JB yields the best clean tone you're going to get without coil taps or single coils.

I really can't say enough good things about this pickup. Go buy one now, and if you hate it, I'll buy it off you for what you paid for it. Seriously. I'm not worried, because you'll never be looking to sell.

...correction.i like air norton very much !i don't like pickups too close to strings.i use high output for this reason.2-3 mm is not good for sustain.i think that AN is not balanced with x2n7.yes,i can add gain from my amp,but the result is:AN7 ok,x2n7 has too gain.when i switch from neck to bridge there's too much difference.AN works better with d-sonic or something about 390-420 mV on other guitars .i tried these combos.this is my opinion.
