I think dormant was referring to the stock M7's not being handwound.

And yes, he can hand wind them, but then again Seymour Duncan could wind me a Livewire 8 string pup...it's true, but it doesn't fit in with the question "Do seymour duncan make 8 string active pickups?"

(I made that up, by the way )

I'd still suggest Bareknuckle.

Yeah, but they're so damned bright that the finger noise and "shink"-y pick attack are damned-near overpowering. I'll take a bit of hiss over that myself.

philkilla is a jewel in the rough
Too bright? ahhh damn...what else do I need to know. I've listened to almost all of bulbs recordings, and from what I can tell, the M7 just sounds thick and articulate.

In part, I feel like a goon for having a custom instrument with my own picked wood selections and it has an EMG in it....

Don't get me wrong, its sounds great...but damn.

digging up an old thread one more time

could someone tell me more about the EQ of the M7?
or could you compare it to some other, more well known PU? for example: lets say I take my Duncan SH7-5 Custom and swap it for an M7, what changes in sound would I get?
