Which Satch neck pickup?

You could get one of the megaswitches ot the super switch from Stew Mac and let it do the coil tapping for you.

i could, but then i'd still only have 5 options. it's currently setup as:

bridge HB
inner bridge and middle single
middle single
inner neck and middle single
neck HB

...and it's kind of fun. i'd like to retain some of that, but add the option of changing the two full HB positions to single coils.

You could add two push pull pots. One for a master coil tap. The other would be a bridge add switch. So you could get neck and bridge together and all three pickups.

what if i wired up a config in some way as to allow one of the push/pull options as:
1 bridge outer coil
2 bridge inner coil
3 middle single
4 neck inner coil
5 neck outer coil

...and the other push/pull config to allow:
1 bridge HB
2 ?
3 ?
4 ?
5 neck HB

oh the choices to make!

I've always wanted to wire up an H-S-H like this:

3-way pickup selector for neck and bridge HBs
Mini-toggle or push/pull for each HB coil split
Mini-toggle or push/pull for middle pickup on/off

But then I pick up my Strat again and realize how convenient it is to have everything on one switch

so i'm playing this thing last night, and i think i may just outright ditch the middle single coil. the only use i can see for it is in teaching a class on 60 cycle hum in American homes

also, it's so HIGH! it actually interferes with my picking. i don't think it's the actual size of the pickup, as it seems to be pretty standard, but rather the depth of the pickup route. maybe when i get it out, i'll find something stuck underneath it.

You might want to look into shielding the guitars electronics which will kill a lot of the hum.

definitely. i've got some copper tape on order from StewMac, which will be used in all my guitars. but really, even on my RG570, i never use the middle single coil for anything.

maybe i'll gut it, and stick in 6 red LED's to go with the red stain
