Sounds like the X2N-7 is exactly what you're looking for.
Excellent For for the neck...I am looking for something a bit cleaner than the X2N as I'll use it for some select lead work (though I still want it to scream if need be!)...is the EVO-7 going to be a good choice for that? Should I consider the Blaze custom or neck models instead? Thanks!

I know some might suggest using bridge pickups for the neck to match with the X2N, but man, I just can't see that, generally, unless it's a pickup made for dual applications like the Air Norton or the EMG 707.

Elysian has a neat trick where uses another X2N-7 in the neck, but he wires the neck pickup in parallel. Sounds like a sweet idea, since I love my Air Norton in parallel. But barring those things, I'd (personally) stick with a dedicated neck pup. In this case, maybe a Blaze Neck, or an Air Norton (which has pretty decent output for a neck pup). Hey, Bostjan my man says the EVO7 sounds good in the neck, though... who knows? It wouldn't be my first choice is I guess all I can say about that.

EDIT - He beat me to it.
