yeah, GC is pretty lame for anything but standard stuff.

you could easily get a 3-way blade switch from stewmac.com or allparts.com or WD music products.

remember, it's not gonna be perfect--the volume knobs won't work in all switch positions. some of your switch positions are going to have no sound at all--off the top of my head, everything should work except the neck humbucker in parallel, position 2.

the simplest way to do it would be to copy your existing volume knob when you redo the tone knob. you'll have to desolder the tone capacitor.

then take the hot wire from each humbucker [i think that's the red wire for DiMarzios?]. remove it from the 5-way switch and solder it to the volume knob [neck hot wire to neck vol knob and bridge hot wire to bridge vol knob]. then solder a new wire from the volume pot output back to the 5-way switch terminal where that hot wire used to be. so you're basically splicing in each volume pot between the pickup that it controls and its terminal on the 5-way switch. then the output of the 5-way goes straight to the output jack.

did you copy the other volume pot _exactly_? remove the tone cap, solder the correct lug of the pot to ground, ground the pot, soldier the hot wire to the correct lug?

yeah i did exactly that. now i wired it back to the original format accept i was to lazy to re wire in the tone pot, so now im just doing one master volume. Im really liking the tone i get from just that. it's alot more brighter. that's what i like.
