ok so heres the deal
a while ago my guitar teacher said he needed some work done ona friends guitar, he asked me to do it because he knew i was into this stuff, the job was to put a lo-pro bill lawrence pickups and a tremsetter in. when i recieved the guitar it was hacked the shit of. he had tried to route it himself with what looks like a job that could only of ben done by an old chisel i asked if he was sure he wanted to put all this into this hacked up guitar he said yes, so i took it home enlarged the stud holes for a lo pro fitted trem/tremsetter (pickups to be installed tomoro), then i realised something... THE TREM WAS FAKE!!! i was gutted and embarrassed that didnt spot it but the differences were minor, i tell the guy it was fake (he ordered the parts not me) and he says ok mty mistake and still wants to pay me but he asked how much i wanted and i said are you sure i mean its a fake trem man, he insists. so what want to know is how much to ask him for (the guitar is an rg450)help please ![]()

Put the trem on, or go find a trem, tell him how much the real trem is.
Then charge for the work you've done, if you can use the fake, use it if he really wants to, it's his choice, but charge for the work, it's not your fault he's a muppet. |

I'm curious about this trem, too. How do you know it's fake? Can you post a picture?
How much time did you spend working on this for him? That'sa a good jumping off point.

Phone up a shop, get them to quote you on the work that you've done, and that should give you a good idea of what you can roughly get away with

heres the picture of the trem by itself,
FAKE LO-PRO ![]() at first glance it may look real but if you look closer the quality looks shit 1)it says "liscenced under patents rather than" "Liscenced under floyd rose patents" 2) the side of the trem from the saddles dosent go along the curve as in there is no metal at the side making it look straight like this REAL LO-PRO ![]() a trained ibanez eye will instantly spot the fake when looking at a real one but i didnt at first but now i can spot one a mile away the guy said he wants that trem on this guitar so im not going to argue |

Throughout each thread everyone says "liscenced". Is it a typo stamped on the trem or are you all illiterate? I can't see the pic as my firewall blocks photobucket etc....
