Evo 7 In Both Bridge and Neck?
So I decided on getting an Evolution 7 in the bridge of my RG7321. Problem is, I can't decide on the neck pickup. I did some searching though and saw that the Evolution 7 works pretty nicely in the neck. Would it be a good idea to have and Evo 7 in both positions? Or would I be better off throwing a Blaze neck into it?

Can't comment on the Evolution, but I just sent a Blaze neck back to DiMarzio. Sounded good clean, but distorted it was rather brittle sounding. Traded for a PAF 7, still waiting on it. A lot of people like the Liquifire in the neck position.

Really? I've heard the Blaze neck is the best pickup to match and Evolution with...

Well, I'm asking about the Evolution 7 bridge being in both the bridge AND neck. Thanks for the info though.

As someoen who has an evo in the neck i'd say that its a great pickup for solos. Very smooth and reacts well to legato playing, it is high output and sustain is very easy to coax out of it,
Ive just bought an evo bridge pickup for the 7 string im having built, what are your comments on the bridge version? I may keep it but im thinking of getting a seymour duncan sh5 7 string pickup instead |

Well I ordered the Evo 7 bridge, I don't have yet. But I have played it in my friend's RG1527 and fell in love with it. Although I want to know if the Evolution 7 BRIDGE would be good in the NECK.

My buddy has the Evo combo and absolutely loves it. I would say it performs well as a neck pickup.

Everything. People say it has an undesired amount of presence if you don't back it away from the string a bit though.
Is he using the Evo 7 bridge in both positions? And does it sound different enough in the neck position to the bridge position to warrant the same pickups in both positions? Thanks. |

I'd like to know this as well. I have an evo7 in the bridge of my uv777 but it matches like crap with the stock blaze neck. The evo is very clear and articulate, but the blaze is muddy and undefined by comparison, like all the notes were filtered through a bag of wool.
