Its not to bassy the 707, your ears like more the 81 and feel the 707 more bassy (the 707 is like 85)

I made up my mind about the 707. After some time i like the sound, but i'm thinking about getting an T.C. M-One to put it between my guitar and amp. I hope to get rid of some bass with the EQ (at least in some parts i would be pretty useful). Another reason is that I could use it as a midi controllable noise gate and dynamics processor.

When Il had my M307, I had the 81-7 in the bridge and the 707 in the neck. The 81-7 is super chunky, and worked with in the bridge position, while the 707 had more clarity and worked better for cleans and solos.

I think its funny haw people bag on the 81-7 considering that the 81 series only does what its designed to do ...be a badass, compressed chunky metal pickup.
