Spacing question...

I just got an Ibanez Prestige S1620 and I want to install a EVO in the bridge and an Air Norton in the neck. What spacing do I need? It has a LO PRO Ibanez Trem. So am I right in saying F-Spaced for the Bridge and Standard for the neck?

I actually measured the pickups pole pieces. They are the exact same length. So I guess their either both F or both Standard right?

F Spaced is for tremolo Standard is for hardtail bridges.

F-Spaced is for any wide spacing, including Fender-style hardtails.

Regular is like Gibsons.

With the nut width on an Ibanez you can use F-spced in both neck and bridge.

BASIC RULE OF THUMB IS, IF YOU GOT A TREM, GET THE F SPACED, IF YOU GOT A HARD TAIL OR TUNOMATIC, GET STANDARD.

it's only cosmetic to have the poles line up with the strings, really. if you get the wrong size, don't fret, your sound will be the same as if you'd have gotten the right spacing.

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

Dimarzio have, or at least used to have, a description of F spacing on their website. Toshiro got it spot on though. Dimarzio say you need an F spaced bridge pickup with a Floyd type bridge, but you can use either spacing for the neck pickup.

F spaced for bridge, standard spaced for neck...but F spaced or standard spaced will still work for either neck or bridge...it's more cosmetic than anything.
