Dimarzios in a square tab housing?
Ok, my pickups are in. How should I fit the Dimarzios in my Washburn WG-587? The ears are too damn wide, and I'm dying to try out these bad boys with the following weird-ass configuration:
EVO7N (Might be boomy as fucking hell, but I want to find out, I have an AN7 just in case, but they don't come in red )Blaze Middle DS7B (rail toward the bridge) If it doesn't work out, I'll flip he whole thing upside-down, then do the DS7B and the AN7N, but I hope it won't come to that) |

Their regular square cavities, like in the RG7420 as opposed to the triangular ones in the RG7620. The pickups are soooooo close to fitting, but no cigar, as we say here in michigan.

Trim the ears just a little.
Post a pic of the DiMarzio sitting on top of the cavity. Last edited by dpm; 07-15-2006 at 10:19 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

I tried to take a picture, but my camera crapped out, and I couldn't get it to sit on top like you said, one side always falls in. Like I say, it's only 2mm or less oversized. Come to think of it, I could probably sand that much off if I wanted to spend an hour or so sanding. I had to trim the ears of my Swinesheads before, actuallyi.

Urgh, rather not deal with the effort and the dust. I'll just nip a tiny bit off. Either way, I won't be able to return them afterwards. I just realized that the holes were never drilled in the first place, only little dimples in the plastic, so I'll have to drill the holes at any rate. Weird, seems like every time I swap pickups, I run into more complications.
Think guitars might just be getting cheaper? |

Two words: DREMEL TOOL
It's easy fast and get the abrasive cutting disks. Be careful it can be too fast.. |
