Need help wiring new pickups

Hi guys

Last nigth i installed my new pickups evo2, and moŽjoe in my ibanez RGT42DXFM, i had 2 small problems.

The first one was that in the 4 position

when the humbuckers are coil splitted the neck coil was the outside one not the inside so i just twist the pick and thats it problem solved ( im i rigth ??)

The second problem is in the same position the volume drops significantly, with distortion is less notable but i wonder if this can be a bad wiring.

Do you have any idea ?

P.D. the ibanez INF had a blue wire which i sustitue for the green in the dimarzios.

at least im free to die

Flipping the pickup should sort out problem 1 no issues!

Also, as that is a split wiring, there will be a volume drop compared to a humbucker. And also, if the neck is less hot than the bridge, it'll be lower volume that the bridge in parrallell.

First off though, flip the pickup, then report back and see if it's a wiring problem!

Well the volume drop is as james said, since the wiring is for split
the mo joe in the neck is definitely hot enough to balance the evo 2 bridge

Reverse Headstocks or Bust

the pickup has already been twisted, so problem one solved, still have the volume issue, will try to recor so you can hear and see if its normal.

Evo in the bridge is 375 output
moŽjoe in neck is 320 output so not a huge diference, actually i hear louder the moŽjoe

how close are they both to the strings?
adjust your bridge until it sounds the best, then adjust the neck pickup to balance the volume

individually each humbuckler is balanced only problem is when splited, is this the way it should ?

mmmm strange things are happening, if i lower the evo in the bridge the volume drop is less evident, what other wiring can i try do you have any idea, is this ibanez wiring any good or im just used to it ?

oh. yeah, a split will cause a volume drop for sure
youre literally only using half of the pickup. thats just part of the deal with using coil splits

two coils in parallel like that will sound a bit less loud than full in-series humbuckers, but that position 4 should still sound about as loud as position 2, which is also two coils in parallel.

is your position 4 much quiter than your position 2? does your position 4 also sound thin and nasaly and overly bright, kinda like a wah pedal in the toe-down position? if so, the pickups are out of phase with each other.

post back if that's the case, and tell me if you're getting hum in that position or if it's hum-canceling like the other positions (that partially determines how to go about fixing it).
