goddamn folks, its not like we're talkin about huge impossible to cut screws. ive cut the screws with a simple as hell wiring snipper, lol. just takes some ooomph. and as far as the pots are concerned, thats totally gay. Emg didnt make theirs bigger so yet again, i shun you Seymour Duncan, for not thinkin hard enough about shit, but instead, rushing your product out to become a competitor on both the passive and active spectrum.

grrrrr. /end rant

Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL

I hope you're just being sarcastic.

i was ranting about the pots on that particular line man, sorry if yall thought it was about the pups themselves. im actually considering BOs for my 6er, and im interested in this "Lower noise floor" aspect of them. Pickups that are more quiet means i get to loosen up my gate so im not cuttin into my phenominal sustain on my axes.

so no, i wasnt being sarcastic. it kinda urked me that they're (supposedly, i cant say for sure until i have one in my hands)bigger than usual ones. while its a simple procedure for folks like me and you to perform, i can see some lil 13yr old kid scratching his head goin "Why wont they fit?"
lol.

need i remind you of those kids in preschool that loved to pound the square peg in the circle hole?

They are a standard size... on other guitars. Just because they won't fit into ONE brand does not make them non standard. It's the same as the height issue. You can buy pots relatively cheap as well as screws if you really need to, unless of course you have a budget fucking electronics store and you can never find what you need... but that's a different rant altogether. I need to order me up a kill switch I'm guessing the pots are Gibson sized?

And yes soldierkahn, the pots are bigger than the ones on your Ibby. The ones that came with my Blackouts would not go into the RG7CT. It's only a minor annoyance for me as the only reason I even attempted to put one in is because I didn't find a kill switch so I wanted a volume

I'm surprised you need to ground the electronics. EMGs don't need to be grounded, do they? (In fact, they recommend against it, if i'm not mistaken.)

I know splitting active pickups can't work because of the way the preamps are designed, but i wonder if series/parallel is indeed an option.

Frank?
