Hmmm, I've been pondering what pickup will be going in my newly ordered sz520, I think I'll go with this!

Duncan just put the specs up for the SH-15 and might I say, HOLY SHIT!!

Seymour Duncan/Basslines

An EQ curve of 7/8/9(bass/mids/treble) and DC resistance of 17.68K with an Alnico 8 magnet.

I must try on.

A quote about it from Frank Falbo.

Quote:
The SH-15 is a pickup that has to be played to be understood. It's a magnet type most aren't familiar with, and it's a wind spec and wire type that make it very different than other pickups in the Seymour Duncan lineup. There are certain aspects of this pickup that defy common understanding. For example, at 17.7k it's not dark, it has great highs and harmonics. For the A8 magnet it's not harsh or overbearing in the top end either. It's got great attack and punch up front to hit the amp. I have to watch what I say, though, because every Beta Tester saw the potential for this pickup, but many had different reasons for liking it. Some liked it for power rock, some liked that it stayed tight for drop tuning, some liked the way it blasted the front end of a tube amp, and some liked how the Alnico magnet made it integrate tonally with the 59N in a more cohesive manner than say a Distortion for example.

So I don't want to say too much and then narrow the scope of the pickup's appeal, because it really can be a great pickup for a wide variety of sounds. To me, it's kind of like the "next generation" of high output pickups, kind of a benchmark in a way. All kinds of people use JB's and Distortions, this will be no different, and can set a new standard if people give it a chance. I think Seymour and MJ really hit it out of the park on this one.

The only proof he needed for the existance of God was music.
