Hipshot locking tuners

anybody have any experience with em? im looking at those like jj at kindergardeners.

OMG. Hipshot is doing locking tuners now? Sweet! I'm not sure you'll find anyone with experience with them yet, as it looks like they JUST came out. But if they start doing their Extenders with a locking tuner attached, i might have to pick up a few.

Soloway uses them and seems pretty happy with them.

Sperzel. Of course, the damn thing won't fit on my guitar because of the headstock design...

Chrome Locking Guitar Tuning Machines

I don't like the fact they aren't sealed though...especially with all the animal hair I have floating around my house. Just seems like it would be a pain in the ass to keep clean.

And for the record, Jim Soloway uses the Sperzel open-back tuners.

JJ, maybe you should shave your pet goats. That'll keep the animal hair to a minimum.

And Darren, it's not the goats I'm worried about, they're tethered outside in the love corral. It's the 4 dogs and 2 cats. And I do keep my instruments in their case, but as any pet owner knows, pet hair will find a way. It's like a sentient being that will never give up, never stop, until you're dead, a juggernaut if you will.
