Is the Lundgren M7 really THAT good?

I'm getting a new bridge pickup (passive) for my RG1527 (Basswood) and I've heard really good things about the M7. I play thrash metal so I need a really aggressive and tight sound and the M7 seems to be perfect for that. But I don't want to spend that much money on a pickup if there's something almost as good for half the price (Seymour duncan, dimarzio). For example is the Dimarzio D activator any good?

If you want high output I'd recommend a Dimarzio X2N7, it kicks ass.

The X2N7 is a nice and crushing crazy pickup. But the lundgren is clearer, less boomy, and less noisy! Might as well save up and get the real deal than get the X2N7 and then have to upgrade once again when you realize that the lundgren is superior.

Exactly Misha. You know. M7 owns. The end.

Please be kind to snakes. They can't help it.

How does the M7 sound in basswood? Didn't Karl Hungus put one in his RG1527 last year?

Yeah but I couldnt live with the stock pickups in my RG anymore, and had to replace them. Would love to have got some M7s but theres no way i could afford that for a while.

Yes he did, and I put one in my LACS D1, with the same result: it just kills. The EMG 707 it replaced, while good sounding, still sounded like styrofoam by comparison. I also have an M8 sitting here waiting on the RG2228 when it gets here. They're that good.
