Whoops, Blaze Neck instead of Blaze Custom
well, the guy i ordered my pickups through made a small error. he ordered me a Blaze Neck in white, instead of a Blaze Custom in white. all is pretty good, though, since the Custom was going to go in the neck anyways. the bridge pickup was right, a white Evo7.
so, should i trade off the Blaze N for a BC, or should i give the Blaze N a try? i checked out DiMarzio's tone charts, and remembered that i was rather on the fence about these two (kinda funny how things work out sometimes). will it balance well with the Evo7? it looks like it will, and maybe even moreso than the BC. i'm leaning towards just installing the Blaze Neck, out of simplicity, and since i don't have one of these yet. i've already got a BC in the bridge of my other guitar (RG7621). thoughts?
I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

I'm going to use those pickups in my H207, I say give it a shot before you send them back.

Worth a shot, I'd say. Experimenting is never bad. Unless that kills your chance of getting it replaced with the right pickup, the one you ordered.

doesn't necessary kill any chance, he can still send them to dimarzio and they'll exchange it for another pickup of his choice.

Definitely worth a try, in that case.

You were meant to try them. The 7 String Gods have sent you a trial. DO NOT disappoint them. Or else next time you order a sweet guitar you might get a schecter on accident

tell the guy to give you a small refund for his mistake, but keep the blaze neck.

it wasn't really a mistake. DiMarzio suggested the Blaze Neck in place of the BC, and the guy, not knowing that i was specifically looking for the BC, he was looking out for a customer, and went with what DiMarzio suggested.
it's all good, and will probably be a better match anyways ![]() |
