No but seriously, get your sister to teach the kid to do music from a young age, Studies show that it greatly helps them. I never learnt shit about music until I was like 14, and I regret it I would of loved to learn how to read manuscript at the age of 7.

Congrats man! Hope it goes well for your family. My sister is 17 and wants to have kids as soon as she graduates high school next year. No real plans for her financial future, she just wants kids.

It explains why I play guitar. Some of my earliest memories (the really fuzzy ones) still involve me having a guitar of some kind even if it was just a toy.

Nope... There was a bit of a fallling out a few months ago which makes the situation a bit awkward since we haven't really spoken since then. But at the same time, I feel like I dodged a bullet seeing as new borns aren't the most respectful of one's sleep schedule and I get up at 4AM every day.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your sister was living with you in an agreement you had with your parents in order for her to keep going to school and get her grades back up, right?

It's a joyous occasion when new life gets brought into the world, but today I'm having a little of trouble being happy for her considering I don't fully trust that she's in the proper position to care for the child. To go into any more detail might require another thread, though

Yea she was living with me for a while because she was having issues bumping heads with my parents while going to school (bc she completely effed up her opportunity to go away to school). Turns out it didn't work out much better with me.

The father? Eff that guy. Chances are he won't be around for the kid, but I'm not really sure he'd be all that welcome at family gatherings anyway. Ex con, no real future, several other kids, 5+ years MY senior... It *would* probably be useful to have the guy around, though. And might ensure that she doesn't end up leaning on me heavily again in the future. The last thing I want is to be responsible for someone else's child especially when it's for a woman w/ whom I'm not even romantically involved!

Well she was just being really lazy about walking the dogs which to me was a huge pain in the ass seeing as she only went to class and watched TV all day. Hopefully that changes when she has to look after a small human.
