It's a sad thing when trivial problems leads you to discover things you should have picked up rather easily if you paid attention to what really matters. I mean being a touring musician was the key to understand that something was wrong! Not hiding behind you half stack trying to see if your wife is cheating! Actually listening to your amp and what it have to say will save you a lot of future misunderstandings that will lead you to erroneous conclusions!
