That dog looks badass.

I think the "mean enough" thing is out of necessity sometimes.

Then again I have tiny dogs; they're always pissed off.

Congrats!

My family had a German Shepherd when I was younger, and she was absolutely wonderful. Her favorite toy was a 12 pound bowling ball. By the time she moved on to the next plane of existence, the ball had surprisingly deep chunks removed, from all the years she spent gnawing on it.

The only word of warning I will issue is that Shepherds - along with most of the larger breeds - are unfortunately predisposed to hip dysplasia in their later years. Just something you should be mindful of now, so it doesn't come as a surprise later.

In my experience, little dogs believe they are big dogs, and big dogs believe they are little dogs. Nothing quite as amusing as a 120+ pound K9 trying to crawl into their owner's lap.

@Synrgy - Yea that more or less seems to be how it goes.

I had a great dane try to lay in my lap.

My minpins think they can protect me.

Then again, I had a lab/shepard mix (looked like a jet black German Shepard) and I'm pretty sure she was well aware of her size.

When I was younger my cousins had a German Shepard named Kayla I used to love hanging out with her when we went to their house.

Teach him to sit every time you stand at military attention. I did that with my lab and it's so fun to look at him with his goofy face all confused.

I just brought him out about an hour ago to do his business after he ate.. lets just say he loves the rain and didnt want to go right away. I had to stand out there with him for a good 15 min and got all soaked and cold haha. -___-
