Either Sevenstring.org stuffed up or the whole population of the universe hates me.

Hello!

So, a couple of days ago, I posted a thing saying *blah blah* song I wrote tab *blah blah*
But anyway, I spent a long time on the tab, and a long time trying to figure out how the hell I get the download link into the actual thread. Then wrote it all and stuff.

And for some reason, nobody said anything, or really even viewed it. I don't know if Sevenstring.org stuffed up or what.

So I posted a little thing on the thread to get it back to the top and I still have no comments!!

Any help?

Plus, if you need the link just ask =)

Problem is you're posting on the wrong forum. Unless it has 'djent' or something related to it in the title, no one's going to bother looking or listening. You'd have better luck on something like Harmony Central.

The reason no one is checking it out (I suspect) is because it's not on Soundcloud or Facebook or anothor web hosting site. That way it's like a super quick link and a million and one (now I'm exagerrating) people will check it out and post their often malicious but sometimes positive comments. lol

Not entirely true but there's a kernel of reality in your observation

(I simply didn't notice it ^^ )

@ The OP - The Universe does not hate you......specifically. I don't think it's particularly fond of most of us.

While raping a bear in Yellowstone and snorting coke out of a freshly-dead baby's skull, I finally felt that I had found my calling and built a time machine out of Iraqi WMDs and LOTS OF HEMP WHOA. Using this time machine I went back in time and shot JFK from outer ....ing space. I am now your god - Jeff

It's hard to get noticed even on a friendly place like here, in the Recording Section, and almost every other section, people will look for the attractive words like 'Axe FX' (Pod, Superior, Djent seem to be pretty well used so even that's not pulling in a big crowd/)

And of course, WHO is posting always has a big effect on the thread, big time guys like Kurrkkuviipale, Bulb, C2AYe, Mattayus, Taylor etc will ALWAYS get attention.

Sorry, but that seems to be how it works, although it also helps if you have a fully recorded song to show, not just a GP midi or double tracked guitar line, lacking bass, etc.
Rook likes this.

Well, I suppose it is a little 'djenty' at stages
Care to check it out anyway? lol.
Because it did take allot of times!
With multiple drum tracks and keyboards etc!!

The only reason I haven't got a real recording is because we don't even have the resources to do so!

Not even a computer!!

Heh. Possibly. I've seen a thread publicising my band disappear to page 2 with zero replies twice. We don't djent.

It's either that, or we suck and you're too kind to tell me.

It happens to all of us, I mean I've at it for about a year and a half on the forum and it's only been recently that my threads in the recording studio section get more views and comments. I remember starting out and some of my threads falling into obscurity with no comments and barely any views

I think it's also what you post that can determine the amount of feedback you get. Guitar Pro tabs are tough because people tend to prefer recorded material as it helps them gauge songwriting and production/mixing style and ability and tender advice accordingly. Also, the length of the track can have some bearing. For example, a short clip will probably get less feedback than a whole song, while something like a whole EP or album will probably get a lot of feedback. Also important is whether all the elements are in place in the track like drums, guitars, bass guitars and where it is hosted as we always prefer soundcloud and soundclick links over mediafire, megaupload etc.

My advice would be just to stick at it, post questions/songs/compositions as much as you can and try and learn as much as possible because I know I did, and don't get discouraged if a couple of your threads don't seem to be getting any comments. It's just the nature of the internet and I'm sure most of the guys here will try and help you if they can

Also, I'd like to think there's zero correlation with the amount of djent in your music but I may be wrong there
