Misspelled words that especially drive you up the wall?

I don't mean little tiny mistakes that people often make that you see all the time, unless you have a really really bad reaction to them - like misplaced apostrophe's, .... I hate those.

For me, it's shit like:

"HEY GUYS, I'M GOING TO GO MAKE A SANDWHICH BUT WHILE I DO THAT CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT TUNNING THIS TRASH METAL IS IN?"

"Sandwhich," "tunning," and "trash" instead of "thrash" drive me insane. Honorable mention goes to "masterbation."

It only bothers me if someone blatantly misspells stuff. Like some misspellings I think, "I could see how you might think it was spelled that way... You get a pass." But other times people will write things like...

"Where are you goen?"

Come on now... You didn't even try...

And yes... I know a girl who spells like that. I hate talking to her in writing.

"... and on either side of the river was the tree of life. The leaves of this tree were for the healing of nations."

"He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle and the herb for the service of man."

People need to learn how to spell "Definitely".

No, it is not "Definately", and it most certainly is not "Defiantly". That's another word all together.

I can deal with transposed letters far more easily than someone just not trying at all, Ralphy.

The sad thing is I thought EVERYTHING had spell check these days. That just goes to show how much people AREN'T trying. You have a machine telling you you're wrong and willing to fix it for you and you just can't be assed to make the effort to be understood.

I also hate it when people say "So-n-so and I" when it should be "So-n-so and me."

Some people just use "and I" for everything because they pound into your head so much in school that "and me" can SOMETIMES be wrong.

It's funny when they call you out on your grammar but spell it that way, especially when they're not even right ignoring the misspelling.

I generally don't mind American spellings but my pet hate has to be Aluminum, both the way it's spelt and especially the way it's pronounced. I have no idea why I dislike it so strongly, but give me Aluminium any day of the week

Since the grammar police is assembled, I have to ask about something that's bothered me: When talking about a band is it correct to say "Band X are awesome!" or "Band X is awesome!"?

I see a lot of people using the former and it just doesn't look or sound correct to me. Does a bunch of individual things become singular when they're grouped together(e.g. a herd, a crowd, a band, etc.)? It can get confusing, especially when a band name is a plural. Take Gojira, Animals as Leaders, and The Sex Pistols for example: Would it be "is", "is", "are", respectively?

The English/British spelling is aluminium and it's pronounced like it's spelled - al-loo-MIN-ium, whereas in North America it's a-LOOM-in-um. Look up a British text and that's how you'll see that word. "Tire" is "tyre" as well. I guess since the English invented the language, their way is the "right" way, but there are such things as dialects.

And lobee, it's Band X ARE awesome, since it's a group of people. I always say "is awesome" because I rarely think. The correct word there is "are" unless you're just talking about one person. You wouldn't go "JEFF BECK ARE AWESOME."

EDIT: The best thing about the "proper English" forms of words is this following exchange:

AMERICAN: Don't be PATE-ronizing me!

ENGLISHMAN: It's pronounced PAT-ronizing.

I've done a similar rant to this before, I'm sure. But hear me out.

I, like Konfyouzd, hate it when people just don't even try to spell the word right. For example, "today" being spelt as "todai" or some other variant. Also, people misspelling "tomorrow" pisses me off... it isn't "tommorow" you dumb shits...

And now, not necessarily spelling, but People who put Capitals at the Start of every few Words really ....ing piss me off. I want to Torture them Slowly and brutally With a Chainsaw and a Wrench of some Description.

Seriously, they should be killed.

Worse still is when they, like someone on my Facebook, put a capital on EVERY word, and then add loads of completely unnecessary extra letters to the end of almost every word, sometimes missing out the "g" on the end of a word for effect.

Like this:

"Yayyyyyyyy Goinnnnnnn Shoppinnnnnnnnnnn Todaiiiiiiiiiii"

(yes, with multiple "I"s on the end of today... give me strength)
