I dont have a job either, but i've worked a lot before i was 19 (although i got paid under the table ). But my only reasons for not having a job is mainly cause of my ever changing school schedule. If i had all the time in the world though, its not too hard to find a warehouse job, cashier, bagging groceries even, or a trade. I'm actually gonna go on a job hunt, cause once i hit the university it isn't going to be as easy to pay as community college. Meh, I'll apply at pizza hut again

Do yourself a favor and actually go to class. That at home stuff is meant for folks that have jobs, and responsiblities outside chilling at home. You're just not going to be engaged in the coursework.

I should know, I tried to do a whole semester online but wound up either A) not grasping the material in a meaningful way, B) failing the class, C) dropping the class entirely, or D) a combination of all the above. At the end of the day I wasn't any more credits ahead and was out a stack of cash.

I also think it would benefit you to get out of the house more and interact with folks closer to your age in a positive way.

In two days worth of time, let's say thirty-two hours of your waking life, you looked at some correspondence courses in audio recording 'a bit'? That doesn't exactly scream motivation to me, buddy.

When I was unemployed I applied for at least one job every day, in my field and beyond it. Two weeks later I had my first interview. I kept applying to other things, just in case One month later I was in my current job. You need momentum: clicking around on Full Sail's website is not getting you closer to a useful income.

As a disclaimer, I am well-educated, 25, and living in a metropolis. However, while I was briefly a 19-year-old dropout living with my parents in the far reaches of the suburbs, I applied the same tactic and was in a job inside two months. Said job would have enabled me to move out, but I saved instead, returned to education and became the dazzlingly successful gentleman that I am today.

Judging by this you aren't in any mindset to bother with schooling. Someone who was a full time student and employed full time throughout college, I've taken a few online classes. Online classes are aimed at people who are strapped for time and are willing to take in the material at their own pace, yet keep to a regular weekly schedule of assignments, test, etc.

You seem to have all the free time in the world. Why would you not go to class? It's an opportunity to get out of your house, meet some new people, network, and do some hands-on learning. You can try to pull the, "I'm weird, lazy, socially awkward, etc." or whatever your alibi is, but as you can clearly see it's not getting you very far. Everyone is weird in their own way, it's not a disability or hindrance of applying yourself to even the smallest task.

Maybe you should re-read a lot of the posts in this thread. There's a ton of really good advice that you don't seem to want to even consider. The job market is tough for anyone right now. I moved across the US on my own. Thought I had a job lined up, only to find out a couple weeks after moving that they decided to promote someone else instead. I knew the job wasn't definite so I've actively been applying for several other places well before moving.

The difference between you and I (and many others) is that I don't take no as a reason to give up. Every interview you go on is an opportunity to learn and figure out the best ways to sell yourself. The job market is very competitive right now. Do yourself a favor and do some research before heading into an interview. Even if it's for McDonald's, do a little research on the company so you can confidently walk into the interview and tell them why you're an asset to their team.

Do you really want to survive off the government? Is that something to be proud of, something to aspire to? Seriously?

there was this sentiment i learned as a child in the classic back in forth dramatized though various media
basically the back and forth between a parent and a child, when the child wants to do what his friends are doing and the parents dont approve.

the final response being "if all your friends jumped off a bridge would you"
For ....'s sake dude, that phrase is for underage drinking, or playing videogames nine hours a day. It doesn't apply to getting a job and doing something with your life.

If your friends jumped off a bridge would you? Probably not.

If your friends went out and got jobs to earn some money and not sit at home doing ....-all, would you? I ....ing would.

How many times are you going to say this before doing jack shit?

We've all weighed in on this. You just seem set on not really doing much.....besides having a pitty party.
