Sorry but I need to interject at this point. If you really believe that Fabio Grosso did not dive in the box you are completely ....ing deluded. I have seen the replay for the incident time and time again and Lucas Neill DID NOT TOUCH Grosso. He dived. It's cheating, simulation whatever you want to call it. I think ONLY the Italian fans would claim that it wasn't a dive. In fact that is a lie because I have Italian friends who straight away acknowledged it was a dive. It was an absolutely awful game. Australia were at fault for not taking advantage of the fact that Italy were poor that day. Grosso is a cheat. To Hitman - if only the Aussies think he dived then why in a press conference following the game did the sports reporters from across the globe all ask him if/why he dived? He bought the penalty and he knows it which is why his fellow players congratulated him.

Italy only played well once in the competition against Germany. They played fantastic football that day but they certainly didn't against Australia.

Mark you won't get any sense out of Italians they think cheating is a skill

1.) Fix your caps lock.

2.) It probably wouldn't kill you if you didn't go out of your way to insult the Australians.

3.) The general consensus is that, if the guy did get taken out during the play, then he has some pretty serious balance issues and probably shouldn't be on the feild anyway.

I'm not an Aussie and god knows I hate them when we play Cricket, but you are massively blinded by your support for your national team. Even I can admit when my team plays badly or cheats! Grosso dived. Even his team mates admitted he went down easy. I really don't understand your point about him scoring if he didn't get fouled. It's beside the point. He went down because he saw the opportunity.

If after watching this you cannot quite clearly see that Lucas Neill's initial lunge missed Grosso and Grosso RAN INTO HIM - therefore buying the foul (as no initial contact was made - if you still don't understand the rules want me to bust out the FIFA rule book I can!)

Italy are World Champions well done. They played superbly against Germany. BUT ... didn't play many of the big boys on the way there (easiest draw in the competition) and never really played as well as I think Italy can play. If you can't see that you are not a true fan of football.

I have just seen the following footage from ESPN and I can kind of understand why you think it was ok because not only is this the worst coverage and commentating I have ever heard but it is completely incorrect and against the rules of the game. When the commentator refers to 'selling a foul' that is in itself cheating. This is not condoned. Grosso should have been booked for fooling the referee and the game should have gone into extra time. No wonder Americans hate this game - you have shit coverage!!!

As an Italy supporter, even I have to admit that France totally outplayed them in the World Cup, and had it not been for Zidane's foul there's a good chance that the French wouldn't have lost in penalty kicks, if it even went that far... :/
