Not sure if you're running Vista or XP but:
Windows XP Cleaning Procedure - MajorGeeks Support Forums Vista Cleaning Procedure - MajorGeeks Support Forums Their system is one hell of a purge, and I haven't had a virus it couldn't kick. It's time consuming but it's worth it. It's specifically designed for the really malicious shit that's designed to recognize specific anti-virus software filenames, preventing them from opening. If you use just one of the programs they offer there, make it SuperAntiSpyware but make sure to use it exactly the way they outline. If you have any trouble accessing the site or anything else, let me know and I can host it somewhere else and PM you the link; or (if your browser is totally locked up) you can download it on a working PC and just drop it on there with a flash drive. Good luck. "Can we pull back the veil of static and reach in to the source of all being? Behind this curtain of patterns, this random pattern generator. So clever. Now I'm scared that the malware might kick in to my computer any day now.
But shit man, I hope you can get rid of it, I hate the idea of having something take over my computer. Good luck with the thing Randy told you about.

What browser were you using?
Once you're back up and running, use Firefox with adblocker and noscript. I'd have to download a virus on purpose with those running. Can you just reformat? Its a pain in the ass, but it would get the job done. |

I think it got me too, my comp is pushin' daisies right now.
It started off with graphic artifacts and browser problems and just snowballed. |

Yeah. That shit sneaks in, and just kicks the friggin' door open once they get there.
In a circumstance like that, you're best off leaving the computer on and trying to fix it like that because once you reset, a lot of those things start to take effect (because it neutralizes your defenses further, by seizing them on startup). That's when things get really bad. "Can we pull back the veil of static and reach in to the source of all being? Behind this curtain of patterns, this random pattern generator. So clever. Right before I sent it off to a more tech savvy friend, I tried booting it. I couldn't even get into safe mode or BIOS.

That first program Randy posted did the trick for me, I never needed to go down the line and use all the others. Then again, I didn't quite get to the state that Aysakh seems to be in. Sucks, man

It's cool, it needed some TLC anyway. I had to use an air compressor to blow all of the dust out before I could work on the inside.
(I though it was a faulty graphics card)
