| Member introduction. Ok... you see my name and location but beyond that... I've been playing for 15 years and my guitar seems to be a couple strings short lately. I found this forum while looking into info on 8 strings and decided to register and socialize. | What is going on fellow axe wielders? I am currently waiting on the new Ibby S7 before I make my first seven purchase, though the 1527 is currently leading the pack of 7’s that I have been able to get my hands on. I have been playing sixers for about nine years and have decided after a great deal of objective assessment that it’s time for me to join the ranks of the 7>6 club. I have been trying to recreate the sounds in my head ever since I first picked up a guitar, and I am hoping the world of the 7 will get me one step closer or at least put a bit of a scare into the camp fire guitar players. (not that I have anything against camping or fire) It's hard to beat a person who never gives up. Unless you have a stick. Then you can go to town. |

| Hello I'm new here (obviously)... My name's John Michael (two words, first name), I'm 15 years old. I've been playing guitar since July or so, but I'm learning fast (learned JerryC's Canon Rock, working on alot of steve vai stuff, namely, die to live, bad horsie, and for the love of god) I've been playing piano for 8 years, that might be why guitar is pretty easy for me. I stopped piano because after memorizing Fantaise Impromptu, Hungarian Rhapsody, and almost all the Bach Inventions, I figured it was time to move on to a new instrument. I've been playing a black Gibson Les Paul Studio with 12-54's. I'm in a band, but we don't have any good songs written yet, just mainly doing covers right now. We don't have a bass player, which is why... ...I ordered my first 7 string guitar today. It's a Black Ibanez RG1527, I also ordered a DiMarzio X2N-7 because I heard the pups that come with it aren't too great. (also wanted a guitar with a whammy bar, decided it might as well be a 7 string haha) I have a Behringer V-Ampire LX1200H head, and Behringer BG412H. (with good cables of course). I mainly play Alternative Metal, stuff like Pillar, Breaking Benjamin, and Skillet, but I also like playing heavier songs like Rammstein, Dragonforce (trying at least), and (dare I say) Linkin Park. I also love playing steve vai songs. I joined because I'm gonna have a 7 string guitar soon and I already have questions about it lol. Well I guess that's pretty much me, I'll have a pic once my new baby arrives  .Rock on dudes  |
