New to site and 7's....

Hey all! Been on jemsite for quite awhile and thought I should expand a bit more from the daily "Vai" clan with their UV's (ha). Seriously, this is a great site, I've been poking around for a week looking for parts. Right now I have a little over 1 guitar to my name. An S-470 and a body of a 7420 that I'm in the process of building. So far just sanded down the body. Now I'm just trying to figure out weather to paint it or keep the wood finish and stain it. I love the natural wood! So basically I'm just keeping tabs on the market to see what parts are going to run me, What type of trem to go with, (Edge 7 or Lo-pro, and pick-ups. Necks are a different story. By the time you monkey around with a neck from someone I could almost buy a reproduced Ibanez new one...Plus I can get a maple fretboard with it. Any comments would be greatly appreciated since I'm new to actually building a guitar. I'm just tired of buying them and simply maintaining what someone else built. Been playing for 28 years and am just now converting to a 7 after my buddy loaned his S series 7 to me for a few months. I dabble a bit in homerecording as well and have been doing that for the past two years.

First off, welcome.

As for your 7420 project, I think you're stuck with the lo-trs but I could be mistaken. I don't know if an OFR7 (original floyd rose 7) would work or not.
