kaotik94 is a jewel in the rough
New guy to 7 strings

Whats up all!! My names Tim. I'm from Redwood City, California( Suburb of San Francisco). I have been playing a six string for like 6 years.......always had my guitar tuned way low and started looking at 7 string guitars about a year ago but never had the money to buy one.(Cost of living in the Bay Area is f*ckin' ridiculous!) .......then a few weeks ago I was scowering craigslist and saw a posting about an ESP LTD H-207. The guy was askin 300 bucks OR possibly a trade for a 6 string Schecter or Ibanez. Well I had a Damien 6 and decided to shoot the guy an email seeing if he wanted to trade and I figured I would be throwing in some extra cash since the ESP had 707s' installed. The dude emailed back and was like "i'll trade you straight across for your schecter" I was like HELL YA!!! So it happened to be some 18 year old kid starting a band and he didn't like the 7 string guitar. He drove to my house(which was an hour drive) and brought me the beauty. I fell in love with it and we did the trade.
Its only been a couple weeks so I am still learning scales using the extra string and getting a good feel of it. But the transition is going great so far. I already forgot about 6 string guitars and don't plan on changing back. I have long fingers and the thicker neck suits me well. Anyways i have a book goin on here so thanks for reading and I love this site!! All you people are very helpful and I appreciate it greatly!!!

nice trade!

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

Thats how i felt, man. It took me less than a year to sell off all the six strings i owned and replace them with 7's. I have a 6 string fretless, currently, but i only bought it cause there are no production 7 string fretlesses. If it weren't fretless, i wouldnt even own a six string.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.
