New Baker B1 7 Player from the Philly Area Saying Hi!

Hiya,

Found your forum looking for online resources for playing 7-string. Seems like a nice forum you guys have here.

A little about me: I've been playing since around 1985, just got my first Baker and my first 7 (low B .080 gauge tuned to A - pic below). Diggin' it! Bit of a learning curve (mostly in the muting), but really looking forward to getting up to speed with it. I'm retired from playing guitar professionally, currently interested in prog/fusion and always interested in playing Zappa's music. I used to play in a band called Painting Over Picasso out of Amsterdam NL, but I'm back in the States now. I studied at GIT 1987-88.

I was curious to know if you guys knew any good, free online resources for scales/arps/chords for 7-string tuned to A. I picked up a Mel Bay 7-string method from Amazon, but I'm still waiting for that to arrive. Would appreciate any info, thanks!

Yours a custom shop or they have a production model?

Thanks! I don't know if Gene Baker is making these any more. This one's from 2000 and I heard that he originally made it for himself, but it passed through a few people's hands before it made it into mine. I've seen a few of his other 7s and they're all pretty sweet. This is his site: The Mean Gene Connection
