Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post

blackout is a jewel in the rough
URGENT help needed with very basic theory!

ok basically I'm nearly finished with my music technology course at college and i've been asked to talk about two songs tomorrow and comment on their harmony and tonality, just simple stuff liked chord prorgessions and key changes etc. but my theory knowledge is next to non existent and I really don't know where to begin.

I don't know what song to choose because something simple like green day really doesn't have much to talk about, but I can't work out whats going on in anything else. I can just take the simple option but that would just about get me a pass, would like to do better than that since I already got a distinction doing the same thing earlier in the year with some help from a good friend.

ANY help at all would save my life cos if I can't do this tomorrow I fail...

SchecterWhore has a spectacular aura about
Every Breath You Take by The Police is pretty simple; I-vi-IV-V in the key of A (A, F#m, D, E), and at "Since you've been gone, I been lost without a trace", there is what sounds like a key change, but near as I can tell, it's going to the relative minor (F#m), and I don't think they're in concert tuning.

Edit: I wrote vii instead of vi. Sorry!
