Ah...
Still having problems tremolo picking, and playing with a metronome...trying to do regular 4/4 at 100bpm, sixteenth notes. Or whatever it is when you have 4 notes between each beat.
Here's a tune I made..it sucks, don't it. |

Take it slow, there's a couple good exercises on youtube for you to practice with, once you think you can go faster try to do it and just keep going from there. Going about it this way makes sure you perfect the technique, which means less sloppiness once you get better!
![]() I personally don't even use metronomes, I may start pretty soon though. Just tap your foot to a 4/4 beat if you need to, that helps me out a lot.
I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

That's why I am going slow! Well, that tune was originally at 100bpm but I bumped it up to 140 so you can see where I'm trying to go.
Sometimes when I tap my foot I also pause for a second while I skip strings and that's no good! |

Maybe this will give you some ideas - obviously, people are most capable of figuring out what they themselves want to improve, but there are some fairly consistent procedures that work well.

I'm at about the speed as you man... 4 notes per click, about 100bpm.
Should be ready to take it up a few notches next time. I stopped playing guitar pretty much and switched for bass. haha, now I'm back to guitar and getting back into "proper" practice. My trempicking sucks... Can't do more than 16th notes at 140bpm and I get tried pretty quickly, still trying to stay loose... I recommend getting "Speed Mechanics for Lead guitar" by Troy Stetina, it's helping me, there's some really good exercises in it. John Petrucci's DVDs are supposed to very good, I haven't checked them out yet though. Good luck with the practicin and all that man ![]() |
