Metric modulation?

I'm in need of articles or whatever that teaches metric modulation, with examples, etc
The tempomental thing isn't good at it.
Anyway, will still search to see if I see anything.

Thanks a lot!

Also, is this first example (a) correct?

Yes.

Metric modulation means keeping the speed of the beat subdivisions (pulses) the same, but changing their beat groupings so the tempo changes.

in the first bar there is a beat every 4 sixteenth note pulses, but in the second bar there is a beat every 7 pulses, so the tempo in the second bar has slowed by a ratio of 7 to 4. So for example, if the tempo in the first bar was 100 bpm then the tempo modulates to 57 bpm in the second bar:

100 beats per minute x 4 pulses per beat ÷ 7 pulses per beat = 57 beats per minute.
