Prepared guitar

Quote:
"A prepared guitar is a guitar which has had its timbre altered by placing various objects on or between the instrument's strings, including other extended techniques. This practice is sometimes called tabletop guitar, because many prepared guitarists do not hold the instrument in the usual manner, but instead place the guitar on a table in order to manipulate it."

I've only seen stuff like this done for "prepared piano". Interesting in an Adrian Belew (sp?) sort of way.

The Ultimate Question: What string gauge is needed for 18.84# of tension when tuned to E2 on a 27" scale guitar?

I wish I could say I understand this There's a wonderful ethereal element to it, but from a musical standpoint I don't feel as though I can appreciate it for what it is

so basically, its the guitar equivalent of modern art?

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.
