![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Been on a serious instructional DVD kick recently. I've had the flat to myself the past couple of evenings, so the night before last I watched... Larry Carlton: Master Session. Al DiMeola: REH DVD ...And last night I watched... Learn Jazz Guitar With Six Great Masters Eric Johnson: Total Electric Guitar Thoughts... Got some great ideas from all of them; triadic ideas from Carlton, rhythmic ideas from DiMeola, and chord voicings and pentatonic ideas from Johnson. ![]() Instructional DVDs rule! I really want to get Scott Henderson's REH one, but money is tight... ![]() 'If one octave isn't interesting then who the hell cares about the others?!' ![]() ![]() ![]() | The Henderson DVD is probably the best in my collection, he covers a huge range of topics. Do yourself a favor and grab it ASAP. What is the Carlton DVD like? Also, I've been wanting to check out John Abercrombies and Don Mock's DVDs. T'was tartar killed the beast. |

The first half talks about phrasing and motivic development, as well as vibrato and string bending. The second deals with triad-on-triad substitutions. There's some really good performance footage as well. |
