Docaroo is on a distinguished road
I think i just invented a new tapping technique

well if i didn't, i've never seen it done before so don't flame!

I'll call it super trilling!! basically, you perform a hammer-on trill, say --7---9--- on G... but instead of normal hammeron, you will "tap" with say your ring finger (left hand) then tap with your tapping finger (index/middle/etc) of your right hand... in VERY quick succession: kinda like:

G:---7-h9-p7-h9-p7-h9-p7-h9-p7-h9-p7-h9-p7-h9-p7-h9-p7-h9-p7-
-------L------R------L------R-----L-----R------L-----R-----L------

key: L= left hand ring, R = right hand middle

if done right (very fast) it sounds like a super quick trill, like machine gun style! let me know if I need to explain it better

I've also seen people mixing legato and tapping to get a super quick trill like that, like hammering on with their fretting hand, then tapping the note, then hammering on, etc.

Billy Sheehan does it a lot (think the beginning of 'Addicted To That Rush').

TJ Helmerich has an interesting variation on it where he taps a note with his ring finger, slides it up a half or whole step, pulls off to his middle finger, slides that up and pulls off to the index finger. It sounds pretty crazy at high speeds, and with both hands on the neck, it's possible to come up with some cool licks with it.

Yep... it's SO much fun to do that super-fast trill on a bass where you can fit two fingers in one fret space more easily.

This space intentionally left blank.
