Favourite tunings for tapping...

For those of us into two-handed playing, what tunings due you like for this technique? Obviously, standard is a given for the legato-style stuff, and guys into pianistic playing often like parellel fourths, but what about rhythmic and chordal tapping, as open tunings combined with this technique can yield great results?

Personally I've found DADGAD, and variations on it, work brilliantly for this stuff. CGDGAD is a great one (as used by Kaki King), as well as DADGAC, DGDGAD and DADGAE.

I know Wes Borland has that four-string guitar for two-handed playing, which is tuned F#F#BE, if I remember correctly. I've often thought the old Schecter Celloblasters (tuned in fifths) would be great tapping instruments...

Any others? Has anyone tried Chapman Stick-type mirrored tunings on a seven?

Dreaming in infared...
