Learning theory

I have been playing for about 8 months for about an average of an hour a day less or more. for these months ive just tryed to get use to just playing but if i want to join a band someday i guess i would need to learn music theory. I dont have the money for lessons, so im just going to have to learn by trial and error but what should i start with?

I'd start with the basic major scale modes and major scale harmony. Then you can learn other scales and stuff a lot more easily if you have that stuff down.

RIP MIKE
