Ever try practicing outside?

I was practicing in my basement from 10-11 when I decided it was too cold and had the idea of going out to my deck.

And it was AWESOME! Man it feels so much better to practice in the sun with a breeze, or under the canopy of a tree. Plus my cat followed me out there which was really cool.

Has anyone else tried this before?

I used to love playing on the covered front porch of my parents' old house in a rainstorm.

It's always quite a bit hotter outside than inside so I alwasy fear of having to retune my guitar, is that really a problem?

Guitars are temperature sensitive, but not THAT sensitive, especally over short periods.

I love practicing outside... Back in Waltham over the summer, almost without fail I'd grab my acoustic and head out to my front steps to unwind after work. Lately I've been bringing a guitar in to work on days I can afford to take a longish lunch break, and going down to the river behind our building, grabbing a picnic table, and jamming out for a while. It's refreshing, and I come back from lunch mellow enough to tackle my afternoon.

"...and everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon."

METAL_ZONE will become famous soon enough
My band was gonna practice outside, we never got to the practicing though. But when I was playing, I made a little girl cry. Then when we were done doing nothing, I realized there was a birthday party across the street.

Bregaladar is on a distinguished road
A couple winters ago I played acoustic outside on occasion () , don't know how my hands managed that.

Metal_zone, I noticed you're also from KC

I haven't done it for a long time, maybe if I was heading to the garage at a mates or something but yeah, there is a nice place near my house where i might take my guitar one day and jam.

I also enjoy watching myself play in front of the mirror, it also helps me not have to look at the fretboard at all.
