![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Did you guys watch the theatrical editions, or the extended versions? Doing the latter will set you back something like 10 or 11 hours, but it's worth it if you like the films. Back in December 2003, a day before the official release of Return of the King, my girlfriend took part in "Trilogy Tuesday," where the extended versions of the first two films were shown back to back, followed by a midnight screening of the third. Nothing like that happened around my town, so I was rather envious... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've done it once before, using the extended editions. It is an EPIC journey but my god.. that's twice I've sat on the couch and watched a ~12 hour epic, and I just don't have it in me to do more than one per year _________________________ "Ah, she's built like a steakhouse but she handles like a bistro" - ZB My Soundclick Page |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It is certainly cool but after awhile your ass starts to hurt, no matter how comfortable the couch, and I felt like I was starting to graft into the cushions.. even eating relatively healthy food (like an entire watermelon over the course of the day), I felt pretty gross ahaha |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | When doing extended viewings like these, it's helpful if you get up and re-enact the films as you watch them. While naked. In front of an open window. "Our precioussssss...." |

![]() | The day after the official UK release of TROTK I held a trilogy day at my house, my dad "borrowed" a projector from his work and we hung a huge white sheet at the far end of our living room and there were about 15 of us, sweltering on one of the hottest days of the year, watching all 3 films. Never EVER again will I put myself through that. As much a I enjoy the films, watching all of them together is just too epic for my feeble self to endure. |
