So yeah, reading on the bus makes me queasy, so got any good audiobook recommendations? I've got a strong bias towards nonfiction, but I'm cool with fiction too, especially a lot of the classics I haven't read (say, War and Peace or East of Eden).

PS: If anybody recommends me something by Deepak Chopra or something again, I'm going to negrep you

Get the audiobook of Kerouac's 'On the Road.' It's fucking BRILLIANT. Read by Matt Dillon (who does a terrific job, and is entirely fitting.)


In light of our previous discussions, and due to your scientific and intellectual bent, I'd also recommend anything on evolutionary psychology/anthropology - say, anything by Jared Diamond is terrific, 'The Selfish Gene' by Richard Dawkins, works by Matt Ridley, or anything by David M. Buss.


I couldn't find Matt Ridley's 'The Red Queen' on audiobook, but read it anyway. It's one of the most transformative books on my thnking ever. Truly enlightening to one's perception of human nature. (And pertains much to teh wimmenz, as you say. )
