Survivorman
Anyone else watch this? I always ignored it since the only other show like this I'd seen was Man vs. Wild, which was an over the top shitfest.

Survivorman is fucking amazing.
What sets it above man vs. wild, besides some douche with an annoying accent saying "This is the biggest killer in *insert country*" after everything he touches, is it is more real. Watching survivorman (Hosted by an ACTUAL suvival expert) you get a real sense of humanity within him. He doesn't pretend to be superman as Bear Grylls does. I mean, Les Stroud had even given up a few times. It shows just how real survival is, and how deadly it can be. Plus I once watched an episode where he made fire with two sticks immediately after an episode of mythbusters where they said that you couldn't

I love that show! I haven't watched in in a while since they all seem to be reruns, but I do enjoy it. I also agree with the sentiment about Man Vs. Wild. It just feels contrived.

I did the same thing Chris did and kept skipping over it and one day I decided to watch it and I've been hooked even since. There's one day that it's on all night and I think I stayed up to one in morning watching this show. I love it!
Plus he writes all the music for show too I believe which is pretty cool. Talented dude. |

Little known fact, this guy is also a musician, and wrote and recorded all his own music for the show. He's a graduate of Music Industry Arts (the program I took in college) and was at our "reunion" thingy at Canadian Music Week a couple years ago when I went.
